Why does the profile form ask for keywords twice?
The first place that asks for keywords, you should enter keywords that describe you so that potential partners can find you in their searches. These can be separated by spaces or commas. The second place that asks for keywords is for JV alerts. See the question about JV alerts.
What are JV Alerts?
You can choose to be notified when a new potential partner joins the site. If you want to receive JV alerts, check the box next to "Receive JV Email Alerts?" Next, enter the keywords that describe the potential partners you'd like to be notified about. You will only be notified if these members have the same list size as you or one larger. If you'd like to also be notified of potential new members with smaller lists, check the box nest to "Receive alerts from smaller lists?" If you don't want to receive JV alerts, leave the boxes unchecked.
What if I don't have a website yet?
Just enter http:// or Coming Soon or I don't have one yet. This field cannot be left blank.
What is a screen shot and how do I upload it?
A screen shot of your mailing list is not required, but we recommend it so potential partners can see proof of the size of your mailing list. Here's how to do this. (You may need some help with this technical step, so please ask your virtual assistant or a more technical friend.)
1. Open your mailing list or database program to a screen that shows your total list size and press the PrintScreen key
2. Open a program like "Paint" or "Photoshop" that allows you to paste and crop, and save the image as "jpg" or "gif"
3. Add it to your profile by finding it on your computer and using the "Upload" button
Why aren't my social media links clickable?
Make sure you copy the link from the website (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn) so that you have the complete URL, including the http:// or https:// at the beginning or else the link will not be clickable.
How do I add a video?
You can either enter the video URL or the embed code (e.g. from YouTube).
How do endorsements work?
The endorsement feature allows you to leave comments on your personal JV experience with your fellow JVIC members. Simply go to their profile and leave an endorsement. The more endorsements a member receives, the more stars will appear on their profile. Your goal is to become a "5-star JV partner" who everyone wants to work with! ***Please help us maintain the integrity of this system by only endorsing people you have actually worked with.***
